almost applebee's for last day of spring

My karaoke buddy
from back in the day,
when Steed's microphone
was controlled by SamJ
,
posted this to his social media
just to say
he was
forever
chasing
sunsets
.
Me, too, Danny.
In fact, I already saw two sunsets today!
One taking place half a world away and the other, just a little while ago, from my front porch.
Rarely do I see a sunrise, though I did by accident once, when I was chasing a shower.
Tonight, sun rise is just before midnight.
(smile)

Not that merry ol' England and a big pile of rocks are the only things going on!
There was the May sales tax to be done with my brother, Smitty.
He was actually shocked that it was already the 20th of the month!
Then, there was watching a couple of episodes of "Match Game", hosted by Alec Baldwin.
He's my age and apparently has six kids under the age of 6 years old - that's crazy!
He'll be in his 70's when they're in high school!
The show is pretty entertaining, though, and a bit ribald, which is nice.
That's one of the reasons I like "Family Feud" - I never know what will be said!
(smile!)
Anyhow, on "Match Game", the question was as follows.
"Shamrock Holmes is a famous detective in the leprechaun world.
Instead of bullets, his gun shoots ___.
"
The contestant had to hope one of the six panelists would match their answer: gold coins.
I was rather surprised at some of the things!
I mean, "rainbows"? Really? But two panelists had that.
Two others had "four-leaf clovers" - more believable, but not a match.
Then one of them wrote "Lucky Charms" as their response - hahahaha!
Only one wrote "gold", which was allowed as a match.
One point for that contestant!
Did they go one to win the $25,000 grand prize?
I really don't remember!
I just liked that Irish interlude!
(smile!)

This was a fun exchange, too!
As soon as I tasted it, I knew the ex just had to know.
After all, he was the one who introduced me to the real version of this delicious dish!

me: "How to cheat and make Applebee's Chicken Wonton Tacos: start with Fresh Express Chopped Kit Asian. So good!"

Jeff: "Gosh, I like those. Thanks! Were they good? "

me: "The sauce [Asian Sesame Vinaigrette] is spot on! I just used tortilla wrap for mine, but I bet some crunchy tortillas would be even better. Plus, good to have the cabbage already chopped."

Jeff: "Oh, yeah."

me: "I mixed the cabbage stuff [green & red cabbage, green leaf lettuce, carrots, green onions] with the meat and dressing, let it sit overnight. Can sprinkle when you assemble with the wonton strips and sliced almonds package."

Jeff: "Aldi has tortilla chips that mimic chalupa wraps. You could heat those in the oven and serve it all disassembled like nachos."

me: "Good idea!"

I am so delighted that this recipe sprang into my head last night!
I had almost - almost! - just eaten the 'chopped kit' as a salad, but the aroma when I opened the bag of veggies brought the appetizer dish to mind.
Then, I checked the dressing/sauce...
and knew I had to try to duplicate the Applebees's flavor...
and it worked!
Nice to be able to share that with someone who would truly appreciate it!
(smile!)

Now, I need to go and charge my phone.
Sunrise will be starting in the next hour and I'm looking forward to it!
Ciao!
(Get the pun?
Isn't it simply mar-vel-ous, darling?
Billy Crystal just cracks me up!
Hahahaha hahaha!)

Hahaha!
I watched that episode of "Match Game" again tonight with dinner!
It was s5e1 and I didn't recognize it until that line came up.
Hahahaha!
