still enjoying flowers

Maybe I should have said "still enjoying arranging flowers", because I certainly have been enjoying that!
Every other day, when I freshen the water, I re-trim the stems and toss the blooms past saving.
The carnation in my bedroom followed the mums out this morning.
So, now I have this still-sweet cluster moved in to cheer my mornings!

That wave of pretty blossoms had been in the living room arrangement.
Clearly, the flowers in the white vase have been the hardiest, holding their own quite well!
Well, perhaps not all of them.
Of the two sprays of little lilies, one remains, but it sheds petals with each new day.

The last stargazer lily lifted its bright face skyward for the last time two days ago, its petals becoming transparent and tissue-thin.
The carnation is doing quite well, though, its creaminess intact, and the purple fringes remain lovely.
Even this last bit of greenery has survived, just a hint of yellow on the edges of its outermost leaves.
I shall enjoy them while I can!
They remind me that I am loved...
like I would ever forget that.
