love in the mail, outgoing 2 bfe

Dear J-Dawg,

Hey, hey! I'm hoping you and Nicole are enjoying yourselves during this time of shelter-in-place, kind of an enforced, honeymoon-style thing.
You know, in between dealing with students remotely, right?
I realize that you probably don't miss having them knock on your door, but I'm sure you do miss seeing friends in the halls.
Joking around on the phone or computer is just NOT the same thing.

Anywho... I came across these old comics that I meant to send to you a while back.
No, I don't recall why I still have them.
Yes, the food porn one is pretty funny, especially now, when everyone seems to be posting photos of their latest meal creations.

Yes, the Frank Sinatra one is pretty funny, too.
Yeah, I thought you'd get a chuckle from the physics one about conservation of mass.
(smile)

I've been trying to create a new schedule for myself.
During the day, life is not much different for me, being retired and all.
But about 5 PM, that's when I have a problem.
I'm so accustomed to being out and about nearly every evening, ya know?
So, I've had to get a bit creative, schedule some online events to attend.
Odd Lot has been trying to still have improv, via fb, and Jim Reed has "online viewing parties" on Wedns (as usual for PFS) and on Sundays.
Still, there's only so much "online" I can take.
So, my schedule is in a state of flux...
which is pretty normal for me.
At least I'm never "overbooked" anymore!

I do miss going to plays, I miss going to movies, I miss going to hither and yon with family and with friends.
Soon, I hope.
However, I realize the current end for the quarantine, April 30th, will likely be pushed even further into the future.
But, until then, I thought it would be a good thing to write to you, to let you know you are missed, just as you had written to me on your sabbatical, to let me know I was missed.
Please regard this as a hug wrapped in a card, something tangible in this day of virtual.

Oh, and here's a weblink for you and The 'Cole.

Happy 5-month anniversary to y'all!

with much love always,

LOL!
Late last night, I got a text alert...
then another...
then another, in rapid succession.
Mi tres amigas, sharing something with me?
Not this time!
It was the physicist!!!
He had painted three landscapes and thought of me.
I guess because we had shared a painting experience, once upon a time, and he knew I appreciated his art!

Two had rivers, one with a green forest in the distance, the other with the forest all to the sides of the water, but with bare branches.
The third one, though, was the one that drew me in.
A lone tree, with lopsided branches... nice asymmetry.
What a surprise to hear from him like that!
Maybe he was getting my telepaths...
or maybe I had been receiving his...
either way, we were in tune.
i thank You, God.
