Last weekend, I only had one play...
but that doozie was "Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike"!
I attended that comedy, proffered by the Savannah Repertory Theatre, on February 28, its opening night.
I just love the grass edging between the house foundation and the porch floor - such attention to detail!
Fabulous story of three aging siblings, a Snow White costume party, a paramour, and a clairvoyant housekeeper - so much fun!
This past Friday evening started a bountiful buffet of plays!
Incredibly, it found me at two more opening night shows!
The first of those was "Schoolhouse Rock Live, Jr." at Bartlett Middle School - and it was a musical!
I'm so glad I happened to see the flyer at Sandfly Laundry.
Based on the show, it featured an even dozen songs about nouns, adjectives, the magic of three, a bill, and interplanet Janet!
So glad they have theatre there -
I'll look forward to more of their high-energy shows!
I'm also glad this hour-long play began at 6 PM, allowing me ample time to shift gears for the Collective Face Theatre Ensemble's third offering this season.
That beauty began at 8 PM, with more about "Intimate Apparel" - and the reception afterward - to be found in an earlier post.
And, yes, that was all on March 6th, flying solo as mi tres amigas chose a movie elsewhere.
Yesterday, at 3 PM, I had jumped back onto my "theatre" card!
As it happened, this was the first of two that were south of Forsyth Park - let's hear it for midtown!
Let's hear it for the Savannah Stage Company, too, with their imaginative production of "Charlote's Web"!
Read more about their artistry, and about the story as well, at this posting, please.
They'll perform it again at month's end, at another open-air locale.
Yester eve was spent at my church, but for a sermon and music from the time of the Spanish Inquisition.
That may not sound like a setting that would hold comedic moments, yet it certainly held much humor... and much hope for a better world.
Yes, Asbury Memorial Theatre was back in the saddle again, this time for "Man of La Mancha"!
Why a photo from a February post?
To show off the set for this musical!
My quest for a shot last night was "The Impossible Dream", sadly.
Just a wee joke there!
(smile!)
This last photo was taken this afternoon, at the musical version of "Little Women", produced by the SCAD Performing Arts troupe.
Held at my beloved Lucas Theatre, the stage was overwhelmed by this overly ornate dressing.
The worst of it was the portrayal of strong-willed Jo as a shrill harpy,
I much prefer the rendition performed by SavRepTh!
I fortunately had an ulterior motive for venturing downtown this oh-so-chilly afternoon...
I wanted ice cream!
Not just any kind of ice cream would do, either.
It absolutely must be the coconut almond fudge chip from Ben & Jerry's on Broughton!
So delightful, even on a cold day!
And what a wonderful way to close out my feast of five plays in just forty-eight hours!
Next weekend, I only have one play.
That will be at the Savannah Children's Theatre, for "Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day" -
on Friday the 13th, under a full moon!
I had so enjoyed the film, back in 2014, and know I will love the kids in this version!
Woohoo!!!
The rest of that weekend will be spent at the Georgia Elvis Festival in Brunswick.
Oh, yeah!
It's been awhile since I've partaken of those competing ETAs!
(smile!)
Now, I'm off to meet Kevin for an impromptu Super Sunday dinner and movie!
The stock markets are bleeding in the street and he has summoned me for some reassurance and kvetching - hooray!
i thank You, God!

How blessed I was that weekend.
The Savannah Children's Theatre had the March 13th performance and canceled the last two shows last weekend.
Asbury Memorial Theatre canceled all three of their performances last weekend.
The Collective Face Theatre Ensemble was to return this evening for a six-show run of "Intimate Apparel", but have had to cancel all.
Savannah Stage Company will likely lose their show at the end of this month.
The Georgia Elvis Festival was canceled.
Sigh.
i thank you, God, for the bounty I received.
Please give me strength for the current drought.
