I had set free my hair from the
single braid it had been in since
the Wednesday shopping, then
thoroughly brushed it and left it
to billow loosely.
I'd donned a favorite springtime
dress for today's church service
and taken this photo.
After attending the "live" streaming service from Asbury Memorial,
I decided to contact my peeps.
"Happy Easter! Even though I knew I would not be seen today at my church, I've dressed up anyway!"
Sherry Moore, teacher: "Happy Easter!"
Bill Peterson, artist: "Wishing you a joyous Easter as well!"
Kevin Crabtree, bfrb panda: "She is risen!"
Bonnie Smith, stepmom: Thanks and same to you... you look good, have you lost weight?"
Christina Smith, first niece: "Happy Easter to you."
Penny Bos, blue-sky cousin: "You are beautiful, Tina!"
Tony Smith, youngest brother: "Hallelujah, yes, He has risen."
Harvey and Mary Smith, oldest brother and sis-in-law: "Hey, hey. Happy Easter to all. Hope everyone is safe and well. Maybe we can all come out for 4th of July."
Here's hoping that will truly occur.
What a wonderful delight to anticipate!
It's been a while since I was alone, all day, for Easter.
In 2009, I had spent Easter in Daytona Beach with Harry Hopkins, the man from Charleston that I'd met on eHarmony.
I was with him for 2010 and 2011, too.
In 2013, Joe Guy, aka my Rogue, was living with me and we ate dark chocolate bunnies - yum!
In 2016, I'd been alone most of the day, but had joined Kevin for a rare Sunday movie.
In 2018, and in 2019 as well, Easter found me in Augusta with my cousin, Bev Prouty, my Aunt Barbara Narcarti, and that paternal side of my family.
For other years, I was usually sharing in the meal festivities at Smitty and Mary's house.
This year, it was just me, quarantining, sheltering in place...
still...
anticipating, with delight, better times to come...
keeping up with my journal of acivities...
coloring brightly the phoenix starship...
letting Elvis keep track of musical notes...
staying hopeful.
i thank You, God.

Faustina Smith... and beautiful you. Let’s talk tomorrow afternoon.
(She had posted a photo of a dogwood blossom on fb and I had commented on how lovely the single blossom was.
Then, I had added my Easter2020 photo to my response.)

(She had posted a photo and complained about needing a haircut. I had responded: "I love it!!! I have not been for a haircut in more than 8 years. Just think of all the money I've saved!" I had added my Easter2020 photo, too.)

Well, there is that benefit, Faustina!

Faustina Smith. Seriously? Wow!
Today, I responded to my outlaw Bunny on fb.
Faustina Smith
Yeah, seriously.
I had wanted to see how long my hair might get.
After about 4 years, it had maxed out and didn't grow any longer.
My genetics had me programmed for that length, which so happens to be the length my hair was in high school.
