wishing many more to my dearest Christina Ann

Nothing like a family celebration to set the world right!
That's Leila, Poppop Matt, Grammy Melinda, and Chris.
The birthday woman has the head of the table, naturally!
Then, there's her friend Jennifer, and that's Chelsea looking at her
37-year-old big sister.
Nice table - room of our own - the Olive Garden gave our dozen!
(smile!)
Across from me was my one-time house-mate, and my always-nephew, Michael!
(He finally had the surgery on the mangled mess inside his left wrist on Tuesday, the 10th.)
Alyssa wanted to sit next to her Daddy, so that's where she is.
And, unseen on her right, is Christian, Jr., being a true sport about being the only 10-year-old boy in the room.
(smile!)
Speaking of folks seated to the right, here's my plus-one surprise for this event - Kevin!
Not that the folks there hadn't known he would be there, because they did.
It's just he somehow didn't realize
all of them would be there.
Oops - my bad.
He had expected a smaller dinner party, like we had last year.
I'm glad he got to meet all of my first niece's family, especially Michael.
(smile!)
Christina even came down to visit our end of the table, after the three kids all went elsewhere to play on parents' phones.
How very sweet of her, right?
But she particularly wanted to try the raspberry sauce for my zeppoli - lol!
What a delight she is!
I'm so glad I have this smiling photo of her with me, her favorite aunt - her words, not mine!
(smile!)
My odometer read 212535, which certainly was a message for me:
right place, right time.

i thank You, God, for this respite from the cares of the world.
Life is short enough as it is - we all need moments to treasure.
This will be one of those for me.

i thank You, God.

I'm so glad I didn't know about his blog as we celebrated Christina's birthday.

I only just learned about it today, from my friend Marguerite on fb.
The blog is written by 55-year-old Mark Murphy, local GI specialist, now on the rotation to help those dying from interstitial pneumonia after becoming infected with SARS-CoV-2.
Damn.
I'm so glad I didn't know about his blog as we celebrated Christina's birthday.
i thank You, God, that none of us were infected on that joyous evening.
i thank You, God, to have had that celebration with her.
