more Beckett baseball!

I'm not sure - but I could certainly look it up - but I think "Quantum Leap" has Sam Beckett in a baseball uniform in three different episodes.
For the first time, it was in the last half of the pilot episode.
For most of that one, he was a pilot of an experimental plane, but in the last twenty minutes or so, he was a minor league player in a championship game in Texas.
Remember me going on about that and also in a comment page?
Well tonight, he was back in uniform in Texas, this time as a pitcher who had once played for "the show",
but had slid back down to the minor league after a mishap.
"Play Ball" (s4e2) was set in 1961 in Galveston, with Sam's goal to get "Doc" back to the majors.
Al is there to offer pitching advice, from his time on the US Navy team.
I love the look and feel here - just like at Grayson Stadium!
(smile!)
The hotshot on the mound, though, was not Al, of course.
Holograms can't pitch!
But it was a young hothead pitcher that Sam wanted to get the scouts to notice, so Sam put himself in center field so the kid could pitch...
which he did very well, only letting one get in range for a hit...
which "Doc" did a power play on, climbing the fence to catch!
And I caught this shot of the ball captured in his glove!!!

How totally amazing, right?
By the way, that editing effect was with the "Zeke" filter, which I don't use much, but it really made the baseball stand out.
Speaking of standing, these two tall swaths of grass in the back yard still stand tall and stand out and need to stand down.
Sure, it's after 8 PM, but it's finally only mid-80's in temperature.
Off I go!
