happy 60th, brother Smitty!

Here he is, the birthday boy,
with his arrival very nicely coinciding with my own!
Right place, right time!
The party at the Parkers was set
to begin at high noon -
as opposed to low noon, lol! -
and we both arrived, in our
separate cars of course,
mere minutes before.
(smile!)
This is him with his older son, Zach, who turned 34 earlier this year.
Mama and Frank would have been delighted with his news: he has been hired by International Paper!!!
They both retired from Union Camp, as it was formerly known, so Zach has been hired at a very good time in his life.
That will have long-term benefits for Linh and their son, Kobe, too.
Hallelujah!!!
(smile!)
Speaking of Zach's family, here they are standing next to Smitty during the singing of the song.
The two people seated are Cheryl And her hubby, Martin Medina, Smitty's sister- and brother-in-law.
Their daughter, Jessica, was over on the couch, off to the right.
She's a nurse now, and I helped when I tutored her years ago.
(smile!)
This one I call "three generations, plus one Medina" - lol!
Christy, my oldest niece, got a kick out of that title!
She's the one on the floor, with her mom, Mary, in the chair and her daughter, Caitlyn, on the couch.
She was the hostess with the mostest at this soiree, sharing that stage with her hubby, John.
(smile!)
In fact, that's John over in the recliner.
I'm sure that's his official chair!
Then there's Jessica and, this time on the other couch, Caitlyn.
That teenager rarely sat in one spot for long, and she usually had her beloved Charlie dog close at hand.
I didn't stay in one place much, either, nor did the other Tina.
She's a close friend of the Parkers, down from Chicago for the month.
Focus back on the birthday boy,
if you please!
Thank you!
(smile!)
I hadn't known we were bringing gifts, but I sent mine in the mail,
so I was good.
Here, he was trying to read the fine print on one of the presents, so
he'd reared back to do so.
I busted out laughing!
Yep, we're all getting older, for sure!
No rearing back needed here!
These two cornhole game boards were made by John, his favorite and one-and-only son-in-law, featuring the team Smitty has cheered on since he was old enough to do so -
Go DAWGS!!!
Yes, even now, with his 24-year-old son, Tyler, just graduated from Georgia Southern.
No switching loyalty for Smitty!
(smile!)
What, no photo with Tyler?
'Fraid not, although I did get two hugs from that gentle giant.
I did get a photo of the food, though I was a little late with that.
Smitty's birthday cake - his favorite, cheesecake! - was nearly half-gone by the time I did.
Yes, I did have a slice, thanks to the Lactaid tablet...
and thanks to Mary, for topping it with blueberries, just so I could!
(smile!)
And what do we have here?
One last parting shot, dear!
Kobe, who will be 10 years old in three days, very lovingly posed with his Pop, moments before taking his family took their leave.
I took mine shortly after, so happy
to have been 1 of 14 at this gathering
in Port Wentworth.
Thanks for the invite, Christy!
(smile!)
