Yesterday, I sent this photo from my living room in Savannah to my first niece in Hinesville.
"Having breakfast with Miyah and waiting for the Mayoral address."
I reminded her of what fun that day at Forsyth Park was, with dinner after at Olive Garden.
She laughed, and then said: "Speaking of that place...
I need some Tina time."
Most excellent!
I needed some Christina time, too!
So, today, we met at one of our favorite places for a luncheon.
That means we each dressed nicely, not in t-shirts.
(smile)
And... surprise!!!
She had picked up littlest girl from daycare and brought her, too!!!
How had she known to put her in purple so she would coordinate with this button-down blouse from Italy?
(smile!)
Littlest girl insisted on sitting beside me - what a treat for all three of us!
Christina got a break from the fidgety 3-year-old and I got to siphon some of that energy onto me.
Not that she was rambunctious or ornery - not at all!
She'd had lunch before she came, so she mostly cuddled with me - ah, bliss! - or colored in the little book the restaurant gave her.
Coloring is one of my favorite quiet activities, too!
Here's the three of us!
I told Christina I was regarding it as a three-generation photograph: Aunt, Niece, Great-niece.
My first niece took great delight in that idea!
She was going to print out this photo, and the one of me and Miyah, to give to littlest girl.
The child was quite sad about us parting, even though we'd been together almost three hours.
That simply was not enough.
I have promised her that I will come to see her next week.
Something to anticipate with delight!
(smile!)
Speaking of things I anticipate, I have episode 9 of svf-8 tonight and I'm hoping to actually watch it live, rather than after the fact.
"Quantum Leap" has a habit of distracting me, understand.
Point of fact, I'd much rather be looking at a naked man with broad shoulders and a hairy chest, dripping wet with only a towel wrapped around his waist...
Ummm.... what was the topic?
Oh, yes, being late to things that were on my schedule because Comet was airing an episode with a partially unclad man, an episode that I had already seen and knew when the 'good parts' were coming up...
oh, wait, there really wasn't meant to be a double entendre there...
or maybe, since this was the one where he was a two-faced g-man...
ummm... what was the topic?
Oh, yes, me being easily distracted.
squirrel!!!
