Kevin's birthday38 was yesterday and we were dining together, for the first time in ages, at Outback -
that's right, the steak house!
We'd never been there together and he hadn't been in a very long time - perfect!
Perfect, for sure, and I was practically jumping up and down with excitement!
You would have thought it was my birthday, not his, honestly.
I could hardly wait for him to open his birthday card!
I'd almost worn out the battery for that little dancing hamster!
I'd teasingly told the bfrb that we couldn't be friends anymore if he didn't recognize all that - I did!
Hamster Dance seemed to be lost on him, but the waitress got it!
He gets partial credit for mistaking "Cotton-Eye Joe" for the actual "Whistle-Stop".
After all, it is his birthday.
As for the birthday gift, I'd taken the time to mark two pages (beef fajitas and corn chips chili), both of which he really liked.
Definite points for me 'being a real friend' and getting that right!
I'm so glad he liked "Frontier Cooking"... and so glad it had reminded me of our one-and-only games night!
That evening of hugs and talk had been a real life saver for me.
I'm thrilled that tonight was another like that one!
He termed it a "Make-up Monday", fan of alliteration that he is... and me, too!
I'm so glad when I contacted him last week that he had his birthday night available!
I know he would have liked to meet earlier, but all of my evenings were booked.
Crazy, right, but I am still a busy, vibrant woman, even in a pandemic!
(smile)
Actually, next week promises to be slower, as the svf-8 will finish up this weekend.
Perhaps one of the local cinemas will be open and we can have a real Tina Tuesday?
Wouldn't that be grand!
For now, though, I am continuing my 'TT at home' screenings.
And what "Kevin" did I spend tonight with?
Well, actually, it was a two-fer!
"Elephant White" boasted not only an actor with that moniker, but also a writer!
They would be, respectively, Kevin Bacon and Kevin Bernhardt...
and there was even an elephant in the movie!
It was actually a fairly decent film about a Thai legend of a ghost girl convincing a mercenary to rescue some slave-girls and become a monk.
I could definitely picture Wesley Snipes as Curtie Church, Djimon Hounsou's role.
I don't know for sure, but I'd say that character surname was an inside joke.
How could it not be?
I mean, seriously, a killer named Church becomes a monk... right?
I liked it, I did, and much more so than I'd thought i would.
Hallelujah!
Let me see, wasn't there one more such...
oh, yes, in "The Big Bang Theory" episode I watched!
Penny and Leonard are out at a movie, but not on a date, just as friends.
He picks the movie, since they are not on a date.
She has to pay for her ticket, since they are not on a date.
Afterward, they go get a nosh and she has to pay for hers, because they're not on a date, but Leonard does go off to place their order.
While he's gone, she starts chatting with a nerdy guy in glasses and cool t-shirt...
and his name is...
Kevin!!!
Hahahaha! Hahaha!
Priceless!
