That would be Kevin Hart, of course, with a little pun thrown in the general direction of the job specialty of last week's male lead!
In fact, "The Wedding Ringer" had a good deal of heart, with a slab of raunch on the side.
Not so much, mind you, as to cause the girls to cry and run off.
Well, certainly not this girl!
I know the title might have implied that this was a chick flick, but it was one for the boys, full tilt boogie and balls to the wall!
I totally loved it!
I think the bfrb might even have approved...
maybe.
(smile)
But he isn't a sports fan and I am, so this football game probably wouldn't have worked for him.
I found it hilarious and such a very 'guy thing' to be happening!
The 'Golden Tux' scammers playing against the golden-agers, in slip-slap-sloppy mud!
And get this: those were some real football players out there talkin' smack and smackin' hard on those young guys.
Former NY Jet Joe Namath was 72 years old in this movie and talking every bit like a New Yorker.
Ed "Too tall" Jones, a former Dallas Cowboy, was 64 and still 6'9" for this scene.
John "The Diesel" Riggins, former player for the Jets and Washington Redskins, was 66 and still kicking butt here.
And 70-year-old Ken Howard, who played the lead instigator for the golden-agers as well as the bride's dad, was once known as "The White Shadow" and had been offered several basketball scholarships after high school.
So, maybe he wasn't a footballer, but his 6'6" frame still housed a sports buff.
(still)
Overall, I'm quite pleased with this movie.
I had thought I'd seen it before, but I know that extended play in the muddy terrain would have stayed with me.
So glad this 2015 comedy was new to me!
(smile!)
Now, what about next week's Tina Tuesday?
Well, I still have a Kevin Bacon film up for grabs, but it looks serious.
If you don't mind, I'll just keep looking, thanks.
