sharing the joy of cinema!

I just had to post this on fb!
I actually took this photo at an earlier movie,  but the same scene was true for tonight.
Moments ago, I was at the cinema to see "42", one of my favorite sports flicks, with plenty of baseball in it.
I was the only person in the screening room.
The only one.
I'm hoping my post will encourage others to come out to the movies.
At least my post has gotten lots of attention!
It has already gathered almost forty emoticons to let me know folks "like" or "love" it.
(smile!)
Plus, there's this exchange between me and a couple of fellows from the Savannah Bananas enterprise.

"I have now seen five movies in a REAL cinema, mostly here in Savannah, but once at the Royal in Pooler.
I much prefer the AMC Cinema approach of closing off every other row for seating.
I'm watching "42" tomorrow night and highly recommend it for baseball lovers, like Julie Shead, D Scott Kimball, Berry Aldridge, Gene Perrone, Lynn Engler, Wally Murphy, Mark Ediss.
"

Berry Aldridge
"Faustina Smith, I was in 42."

Mark Ediss
"Berry Aldridge, whatttt?"

Berry Aldridge
"Mark Ediss, yea I was an extra at Luther Williams Field in Macon.
Couldn’t prove which one I was but have a couple pics in the old timey garb."

Mark Ediss
"Berry Aldridge, sweet!!!!"

Faustina Smith
"That is SOOOO awesome!!!
I was an extra in Grayson Stadium for "Crackerjack" a few years ago.
It was a fun way to spend an afternoon!
"

Here's the odd thing: I've still never seen "Crackerjack".
It was not released to movies around Savannah, so I didn't have the opportunity to see it on the silver screen.
I doubt I would have seen myself in the crowd scenes...
but I would have recognized my hootin' and hollerin', oh, yeah.
Hmmm...
maybe I'll have to see if it's available somewhere...
for free, of course.
Okay, gotta go, my movie is about to begin!

That's not to say I'll ever watch it...
unless it shows up on Crackle some time in the future.

Here's what was written about this Jeff Foxworthy film:

Seriously, it certainly sounds like the kind of "underdog makes good" movie that I love, right?
