First off, it's not what you think.
but I did last night, too!
That was at Moe's in Pooler.
Oh, that Tofu Joey Bag O' Donuts, with the tomatilla salsa, definitely hit the sweet spot for me!
Good suggestion from that bear!
Sure, I had to wait for the tofu to be cooked, but that was fine by me.
The music was really jamming, and not just by dead artists!
We had just experienced "Bill & Ted Face The Music" over at the Royal.
It was the 6:05 PM screening and we were two of seven, but that was definitely safe - and everyone was clearly loving the movie!
Keanu and Alex are now in their mid-50's, making Bill and Ted in their mid-40's, but it all worked and the Wyld Stallyns rode on!
Hi ho Silver - away!!!
The meal tonight, on this Tina Tuesday, was at Texas Roadhouse - our first time at their new location.
As I waited for the bfrb, "Life In A Northern Town" came on and I danced and sang along, enjoying the crystallized good memories from a night of karaoke five years ago.
Music truly is a time machine -
and it felt so good to be outside singing and dancing on this cool, late-summer evening!
Maybe I inspired others to do so!
Yes, I'm sure that played a part!
I had already planned my meal before I left home: the Country Vegetable Plate with the healthy foursome, offset by the crowning prize, a sidekick of ribs.
Like ribs would ever take second-place to veggies - hah!
The bfrb had catfish - his favorite - and ate every last smidgen!
Very satisfying meal for both of us.
Oh, yes!
I wish that either of us could say the same about the movie.
"The New Mutants" began as we had expected, with the Marvel Universe graphics on the screen, so that was good.
However, that was misleading.
This was a horror show, with teenagers supposedly undergoing treatment to help them handle the powers they possessed.
Instead, it was a bunch of stereotypical kids having nightmares.
Ack, phooey, yuck.
Fortunately, it was mercifully short.
That meant I was dropped off at my car at 9 PM from that 7 PM movie.
Wow.
Once I was home again, I puttered about, restless.
I needed to wash that 'bad movie' taste out of my mind.
Well, it was still Tina Tuesday... so "Central Intelligence", with Kevin Hart was just the ticket!
See what I meant about this not being the doubleheader you thought?
The 2016 film wasn't quite what I'd expected, either, but it was a good look at the real image in the mirror versus the dream that is projected by the mind.
Fully how that conundrum keeps showing up for me.
Right place, right time.
(smile!)
