That line from "Groundhog Day" popped
into my head a few minutes ago.
I swear, I think I have that movie ingrained
into my DNA at this point.
Since I was dining out with my one-and-only Rogue, it's no wonder that thoughts of this film came to mind.
Joe is in town to hopefully - fingers crossed! -
close on the sale of the Maupas property.
Fortunately, Five Spot was serving, so we
had a leisurely visit, talking as little as
possible about the plague.
How wonderful to see his smiling face!
Definitely different, definitely good.
i thank You, God.
Earlier today, I'd gone to Smitty's to take care of the sales tax calculations.
Business has, of course, crawled to a halt, except for those idiots who want to believe they are on vacation, not coming quickly upon quarantine.
China had the right idea.
Bolt those idiots into their homes.
Yesterday, thanks to enforcement of those strict procedures, China had no new cases of coronavirus infection.
No new cases - for the first time since December 2019.
Definitely different, definitely good.
In plain English: those who are infected have truly been self-isolating (or have died) and are not spreading the virus anymore.
That's incredibly good news for the rest of the world, including the USA.
Social distancing works.
Now, it is up to us to have the courage and mental strength to just stay home for the next two to three weeks.
Fortunately, I have been blessed with an abundance of touch.
Saturday, I had hugs in abundance at Christina's birthday meal.
I had hugs from Kevin on our Magnificent Monday.
This afternoon, my brother Smitty hugged me.
And a hug from Joe this evening came as we were parting.
That's a higher number of embraces than I tend to get during a week.
I'm so grateful for that bounty.
Those treasured touches will have to sustain me during the weeks ahead.
i thank You, God.

My Rogue has finally headed home to ATL, freed from the albatross on Maupas Street.
Hallelujah!
I do so hope his folks will pay him back all the money he has spent on that house, but, at the very least, he won't be having to spend his weekends here anymore, away from his dear Princeton.
Hallelujah!
